As mentioned at www.theverge.com, Aston Martin and Quintessence Yachts have designed a new powerboat ‘AM37’. The gorgeous yacht has been designed for a city-wide design festival in Milan ‘Salone del Mobile’.
According to an Aston Martin press release, the 37-feet boat was created “to capture the handling, performance, comfort, and style synonymous with Aston Martin”.
Features of Yacht
The press release said that luxury yacht has a sliding deck made of three carbon fiber panels. The three panels are operated by remote at the click of a button and can cover the entire cockpit to protect it from unwanted guests and the other elements. The cars designed by Aston Martins are always gorgeous and this boat too is model of style, comfort, luxury, engineering, design, elegance, performance and functionality. Moreover, boat is equipped with underwater lights, beds to lounge in the sun, a cocktail bar, and fingerprint recognition system to make sure that only authorized users can sail.
Another astonishing boat feature is a digital control interface which helps to gain access to the navigation and control systems that includes a retractable bimini, retractable swimming platform, deck deployment and electric anchors.
Yacht equivalent to a convertible
The AM37 is a yacht equivalent to convertible as it the fastest version and combined with 250 horsepower engines pushing boat to 52 knots, with a choice of dual 370 hp diesel engines, or two 430 hp gasoline units.
Aston Martin Chief Creative Officer Marek Reichman, while briefing about the elegant yacht, said that “It is true that a beautiful, simple shape is critical to a product’s success but it must also have drama, which is provided by surface language, proportions, and through the choice of exciting materials.”
He continued saying, “The most important attribute for Aston Martin is the language of design and we have transferred this language into AM37. The new powerboat represents the ideal combination of luxurious and technical materials, generating a powerful yet understated finished product”.
The price of this yacht has not been disclosed yet. Important to mention here is that it is not the first yacht of its type. Another such yacht ‘the Ninette’ worth $2.2 million was designed by Bugatti last year. Bugatti, the French automaker, created luxury speed boat range in length from 42 to 88 feet after partnership with yacht builder Palmer Johnson.
The company said “As with the sports cars, the Bugatti design team followed its approach ‘from follows performance’. The design is meant to capture the falling shoulder line of the Bugatti Type 57 C Atalante vehicle and the balanced proportions of its Type 41 Royale car”.
